CORRECTED: Section of N. Rocky River Road in Union County to Close Next Week Friday, September 15, 2017


Closure is part of Monroe Expressway construction

(Editor's Note: The previous version of this news release issued Sept. 14 stated the closure would begin Monday, Sept. 18. The contractor has rescheduled the closure to Monday, Sept. 25, continuing through Monday, Oct. 9.)

CHARLOTTE – Crews working on the Monroe Expressway project will temporarily close N. Rocky River Road near Secrest Shortcut Road in Monroe at 6 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 25, weather permitting.

During the closure, crews will complete realigning N. Rocky River Road to its final configuration. The closure will be in place until 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 9.

A posted detour will direct northbound traffic on N. Rocky River Road to turn left on Secrest Shortcut Road, then right on Unionville-Indian Trail Road, and right again back to N. Rocky River Road.

Southbound traffic will turn right from N. Rocky River Road to Unionville-Indian Trail Road, then left to Secrest-Shortcut Road, and left again back to N. Rocky River Road.
