Peace Street Traffic Shift Now Postponed Until Later Next Week Friday, September 08, 2017

RALEIGH – The planned traffic shift for a section of Peace Street in Raleigh, already postponed once because of rainy weather, has now been postponed until Thursday night, Sept. 14. Rain is again the cause as the remnants of Hurricane Irma is expected to bring wet weather to Raleigh early next week. The shift into single lanes in each direction requires new lane striping on the roadway and that can't be done in wet conditions.

The traffic shift is taking place as contractor crews gear up work on the Peace Street portion of the Capital Boulevard bridges project, which calls for a new bridge and upgraded interchange at Peace Street, as well as a new bridge-ramp for Wade Avenue coming off Capital Boulevard.
