NCDOT Temporarily Closing a Section Askew Road for Bridge Replacement Project in Pitt County Monday, July 14, 2014

JACKSONVILLE – Beginning tomorrow, July 15, N.C. Department of Transportation crews will close a section of Askew Road in both directions, Southeast of Farmville, weather permitting. 

The closure is necessary for crews to replace a bridge and is scheduled to reopen November 11. 

During the replacement, motorists traveling northwest should use the following signed detour:
• Ballards Crossroads, to Bruce Strickland Road back to Askew Road.

Motorists traveling southeast should use the following signed detour:
• Bruce Strickland Road to Bell Arthur Road to Ballards Crossroads back to Askew Road.

NCDOT urges motorists to use caution when traveling in the work zone.
