Bridge Project to Close Road in Henderson County Next Month Wednesday, June 25, 2014

RALEIGH — The N.C. Department of Transportation will be closing Fruitland Road in Hendersonville in order to continue work on the bridge replacement project on that road.

Starting Monday, July 7, crews will close the road to complete work needed to place traffic onto the new bridges over Clear Creek and Tazewell Creek. That work is expected to end in early August. A detour route for the closure at Clear Creek will be in place during this time, using Gilliam Road and U.S. 64. The bridge at Tazewell Creek is four miles away from that location and drivers there can use an onsite detour.

Motorists are advised to use caution while traveling in the area and to expect delays. NCDOT reminds motorists to watch signs for construction information, stay alert and obey the posted speed limit.
