Ritter Road Bridge Replacement Begins June 30 in Moore County Monday, June 23, 2014

RALEIGH —A section of Ritter Road Road will be closed beginning Monday, June 30, as N.C. Department of Transportation crews replace the bridge over Buffalo Creek near Robbins, weather permitting.

Ritter Road will be closed near the bridge site until Nov. 20. Motorists will use the signed detour consisting of Lakey Siding Road, North Moore School Road, N.C. 22 and Borden Road during the closure.

The timber bridge, which was built in 1948, is deemed functionally obsolete. This means that while the bridge is safe, it needs to be replaced in order to meet current and future traffic demands.

The $583,107 project was awarded to TBC Builders of Lexington in May.
