Dairyland Road Widening Project Continues in Chapel Hill Friday, June 22, 2012

RALEIGH — As part of a N.C. Department of Transportation widening and resurfacing project, a section of Dairyland Road between Orange Grove Road and Old N.C. 86 in Orange County will be in a one-lane, two-way traffic pattern each day from 9 a.m. until sunset through Friday, July 27, weather permitting.

NCDOT reminds motorists and bicyclists to stay alert, watch signs for construction information and follow the direction of the pilot car and flaggers to ensure safe travel through the work zone. Bicyclists are strongly encouraged to choose an alternate route while this section of Dairyland Road is under construction.

Bicyclists have the same rights and responsibilities on the road as motorists and are required to obey all traffic signs and signals, including traffic control measures in a work zone.  For additional information on bicycle laws and safety, please visit www.ncdot.gov/bikeped.
