The NCDOT Mobi Awards 2019 Application

Applications will be accepted through Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2019.

Requirements for nomination:

  • Project must be nominated by a North Carolina town, city, county, metropolitan planning organization (MPO), rural planning organization (RPO), public transportation system/authority, airport authority, or Council of Government.
  • Project must involve at least two or more modes of transportation. Modes include aviation, bicycle/pedestrian, ferry, public transportation, rail and roadway
  • Project must have been constructed and put into operation within the past five years (prior to the application deadline of Jan. 22, 2019).

    AWARD CATEGORY

    You may apply for only one category per project/application.



    * The county in which the project is located determines which of these four categories the project may compete in (this excludes innovation, which is a category open to all projects). To determine which of these categories to select (i.e., rural, urban, suburban, or tourism), refer to this link. If the project is in more than one county, choose the county the project is primarily in.

    You may choose only one category per application, however more than one application may be submitted for a project under multiple categories (for example: one project may be submitted with two applications – one under rural and one under innovation).

    PROJECT COMPLETION DATE

    Enter the date your project was completed. Project must have been constructed and put into operation (or service must have started) within the past five years (prior to the application deadline of Jan. 22, 2019).

    Your project must combine two or more of the following modes of transportation. Check all that apply.

    Provide a brief written description of the project including key information such as: location, how the modes interact, length or size, proximity to communities, key design features, etc. (Limited to 300 words)

    Please limit each response below to 300 or fewer words, and be as specific as possible.

    How has the project leveraged or spurred other public and private investment (beyond NCDOT’s)? Include sources and amounts by investor.

    How has the project boosted economic development (business, tourism, etc.)?

    Describe any long-term jobs (not construction jobs) created by this project. Include any information you have (for example type, number and average salaries of jobs created, etc.).

    Describe any positive impact on public health from this project.

    Describe how this project has enhanced your community.

    List any other unique or significant impact of your project.

    Upload one to four photos of your project. We will use these photos to assist in evaluating your project and to publicize winning projects.
